FLANDRINA'S CONQUEST By Claire Lydia Ray

Synopsis:

The body of a youth is washed up on a Normandy beach in 1066 whilst William is navigating its coast for his conquest of England and his rightful sovreignty. A squire and a monk travel through enemy territory to return to Normandy to join the conquest and a young wife, Flandrina, awaits to consumate an arranged marraige which promises freedom from a dissonant family.

Set against a background of intrigue, sexual jealousy, and the historical narrative of the events leading up to 1066, Claire Lydia Ray (the Barbara Cartland of Viticulture) explores the romance and tensions of the time through the eyes of Flandrina who is on her own conquest to regain her rightful position at her husband's side.
